Whether you have a small, medium, or large company, a certain percentage of your overall operating costs are usually allocated to maintaining your website and other marketing strategies. When it comes to consumer opinion, a recent survey showed that 46% stated that a company’s website design was a determining factor in whether or not they believed a company was credible. Furthermore, the survey showed that it was their number-one criterion for determining this.
Credible, successful websites need to be user-friendly to corner the market. This includes having a clear and easy-to-scan layout. The Nielson Norman Group?s report, ?How Users Read on the Web,? found that there is a 47% usability improvement when these aspects are at the top of the list with website design.
Websites with frequently updated blogs also perform better than their counterparts. Recent data shows that B2B companies in particular generate 67% more leads as a result of posting frequent blogs. This is also beneficial with brand-oriented websites. Data shows that when brands have blogs, their web traffic can be increased by 55%, which is a significant amount.
Since blogs with search engine optimization (SEO) perform better than those without unique keywords and keyword phrases, this is also important to consider when composing blogs and designing websites. It also makes a difference with closing rates. SEO leads, for example, have a 14.6% close rate. Direct mail, print, advertising, and other types of outbound leads have a close rate of 1.7%.
When it comes to B2B marketers, many face challenges. One of the most challenging issues, however, is consistently generating high-quality leads. This was the case wit 62% of the B2B marketers that participated in a recent survey. Since posting regular SEO-rich blogs makes a difference in this regard, it makes sense to have a dedicated IT services team to handle this aspect.
An IT consulting firm realizes that organic clicks bring greater results than ads. Since a company wants their website on the first page of search results, it’s interesting to note that 60% of organic clicks are actually located in the top-three results. Given the reading styles and other behaviors of many Internet users, it’s common that they will just scan the top of this list and click on these links.
It’s also relevant to bring in the issue of having employees that telecommute, or work remotely, part or most of the time. Many SEO content providers, for example, work off-site as independent contractors. This includes companies that provide a variety of outsourced IT services.
When given the opportunity to work at home, for example, 67% of workers claimed that their productivity was improved. This particular survey also showed that while 26% were neutral on this subject, seven percent actually felt less productive.
Company size may make a difference in whether or not workers are offered or encouraged to work on a remote basis. It appears that 62% of small companies offered this opportunity, while 38% didn’t. Medium companies allowed this opportunity less often, however. While 55% of these companies allowed remote work, 45% didn’t.
It’s interesting to note that large companies were more encouraging of their employees working remotely, and offered the greatest opportunity for doing so. While 69% allowed remote work stations, 31% kept their employees on-site. A 2013 study showed that almost two out of three large United States companies would allow their employees to telecommute on occasion. This was nearly double the number that would allow this just eight years prior in 2005.
